Back In Control™ MasterClass

Build the system. Find the constraint. Protect the boundary.

The book gives you the framework. This gives you the tools.

Ten modules. Each one ends with something built, not just something learned. By the end, you have a working system you'll use every week at your kitchen table.

Why This Is Different

This is not a twelve-week video course with homework assignments.

You're running a business. You don't have time for that, and the completion rate on those courses proves it.

Each module is fifteen to twenty-five minutes of content followed by one guided exercise. You finish a module and you've built something. A pipeline map. A control panel. A diagnosis. A plan.

Not a notebook full of ideas. A system you use every week.

Designed to be done at your kitchen table, one module at a time, at whatever pace your life allows.

How this compares

Typical Online Course

12 weeks. 40+ hours. Homework you won't do.

This MasterClass

10 modules. ~3.5 hours. One deliverable per module.

Typical Online Course

Theory and motivation. "You can do it!"

This MasterClass

Your numbers. Your pipeline. Your constraint. Built.

Typical Online Course

You finish feeling inspired. For a week.

This MasterClass

You finish with a working system you'll use every Monday.

The Curriculum

Ten modules. Three phases. One system.

Modules 1–5 build the foundation. Modules 6–8 fix your specific constraint. Modules 9–10 complete the system.

Phase 1: Build the Foundation
01

Define the Goal

Not "make more money." Three specific numbers: your revenue target, your time boundary, and the things the business is not allowed to take. These become the engineering specifications for everything that follows.

Goal Definition
02

Map Your Pipeline

Walk through the five stages as they look in your specific business. A contractor's pipeline is different from a therapist's is different from a consultant's. You map yours, with your rough numbers.

Pipeline Map
03

Build the Control Panel

The centerpiece. You construct the one-page instrument that tells you, in five minutes, whether your business is healthy. Five bands of metrics. A footer that protects the boundary. Week-over-week comparison.

Working Control Panel
04

Diagnose the Limiter

Every business has one constraint slowing everything else down. You learn to read your control panel and identify whether it's demand, conversion, or capacity. Your real numbers, not a textbook scenario.

One-Sentence Diagnosis
05

Set the Rhythm

Log daily numbers. Max ten minutes, end of every workday. The five weekly questions. Twenty minutes, same time every week. You set up the practice that makes the control panel a living instrument.

Phase 2: Fix Your Constraint
Your diagnosis from Module 4 determines which module you work next. You don't need all three. You need the one that matches your limiter.
06

Fix Demand

Not enough qualified leads entering the offer stage. Three levers: increase qualified contact flow, improve filtering, create urgency. You build a specific plan. Referral asks, partnership outreach, content that names your client and your price.

30-Day Demand Plan
07

Fix Conversion

Offers are being made (or should be) and too few are accepted. Four levers: make a clear offer, state price without apology, define the next step, structure your follow-up. You write your actual offer sentence and follow-up cadence.

Offer Script + Follow-Up
08

Fix Capacity

Work is entering faster than it can be completed. Five levers: enforce the boundary, reduce non-core hours, raise price, standardize packages, hire when the math justifies it. You do the throughput math for your business.

Capacity Plan
Phase 3: Complete the System
09

The Revenue Formula

Revenue = Units × Price. Profit = Revenue – Cost. You calculate your margin, your profit per dollar, and discover whether your effort is actually reaching your life or just feeding a number that looks good and means nothing.

The Loop and the Boundary

The improvement cycle: identify the constraint, improve it, stabilize, measure, repeat. The constraint always moves. That's the sign the system is working. The rule that holds everything together.

Recommended Pace

One module per week. Not because it's hard, but because the exercises need time to produce real data.

You build the control panel in Module 3. You set the rhythm in Module 5. By the time you reach your constraint module, you've had two to three weeks of real numbers to diagnose with. The pacing creates the data. Rushing defeats the purpose.

"You don't need perfect data. You need direction."

That said, it's your schedule. Every module is available on demand. You can move faster or slower. The important thing is that you do each exercise with real numbers, not estimates from memory. The numbers your daily log has been capturing.

Who This Is For

Self-employed business owners who want to build the system themselves.

You may have read the book and want to apply it. You may be starting fresh and want the framework from the beginning. Either way, you want structure, not theory, and you're willing to sit down with your own numbers and do the work.

Contractors, consultants, designers, therapists, coaches, planners, and every skilled professional who runs a real business. The framework is the same. The exercises adapt to you.

You don't need the book first. The MasterClass stands on its own. But if you've read it, you'll recognize every concept and experience it differently, because this time you're building it for your business, not watching John build it for his.
What Comes After

You finish with a working system. Here's how to go deeper.

You don't need either of these to start. You have everything you need. The loop begins this week.

Run it live

The Back In Control™ App

The framework, running on your actual numbers every week. Enter your daily log, the app finds your constraint, tracks your trends, and tells you exactly where to look.
